New Resident in the Heart of Music City

New Resident in the Heart of Music City
Words by Sarah Deloach

The people have spoken, and Bobby Hotel is excited to introduce you to Hairy, the new resident dog at the Nashville hotel. Hairy became the star pup after followers were asked to vote on rescue dogs from Nashville Humane Association– Hairy will now live at Bobby Hotel for the next year while being trained to become a service or therapy dog. At the end of the year, he will be given a forever home to someone in need.

Hairy is a 4-month-old Retriever Mix who is all puppy and as cute as can be. He is playful, adventurous, and loves hanging out with his friends (human and furry) at Nashville Humane Association. Hairy will now be welcoming those visiting Hotel Bobby for the next year.

The arrival of Hairy marks the beginning of a brand new, ongoing, resident dog ambassador program at Bobby Hotel. The goal of this program is to not only give someone in need a service dog each year, but also raise awareness for the dogs and cats that are still residing at Nashville Humane. Hairy and the future doggy ambassadors will be trained by renowned dog trainer Michele Boardman, who has over 25 years of experience in the industry. She has worked with dogs for Animal Planet, Macy’s Spring Flower Show, and numerous films, TV, and live appearances. Here is a clip of her on Jay Leno with her dog, Ginger.
Even though Hairy gets to live in the stunning Bobby Hotel, there are many other pups ready to be adopted.

Nashville Humane was incorporated in 1946 to protect the well-being of animals in Davidson Country, and is the oldest service organization in Nashville. The roots of Nashville Humane can be traced back to a society founded in 1887 to protect children from inhumane working conditions and protecting horses from mistreatment. If you are not able to visit Hairy or his future ambassadors in person and want to help their other furry friends, check out Nashville Humane’s wishlist for their most up-to-date needs.
